My art residency led me to the island of Gran Canaria. After a period of darkness, the island of eternal spring presented itself like an exciting summer fantasy, only enhanced by the creepy undertones of the local cave culture and spiky vegetation.

After completing my in-patient treatment for depression, I had to learn a new way of relating to my life in Leipzig, my home, communities, and work. Creating art took second place to recovering from fatigue in this phase of my life.

In January I had to face the fact that I was struggling with major depression and made the choice to put myself in the hospital, which was one of the harder decisions of my life. I left the clinic mid-March, after a difficult but ultimately neccessary process.

Es ist mal wieder Skizzenbuchfreitag. Diese Woche stand für mich unter dem Motto Biologie und Natur. Außerdem: Feministische Musik und die Kunst, Bücher gleichzeitg zu lesen.
